Joanne
Open Water Scuba Instructor
I am passionate about scuba diving since I did my Discover Scuba Dive on a holiday to Egypt in 2015. As soon as my head went under water the abundance of colours and fishes, it was a different world, I wanted to do this again. On my return to the UK I did my Open Water course and have been hooked on scuba diving ever since.
I have progressed and assisted in Dive Schools in my local area gaining experience. I currently have 380+ recreational dives undertaken in the UK or whilst on holiday in Tenerife, Lanzarote, Maldives, Malta, Egypt, Majorca, Spain, Dubai & Epcot Aquarium.
In 2023, I undertook my IDC in the UK and completed the IE in Malta qualifying as an Open Water Scuba Instructor with numerous specialities.
I enjoy working as a team and seeing people achieve their goals and feel so happy when I know I have helped people achieve their dreams of becoming a scuba diver and they are then able to see what I have experienced.
Every dive is never the same and as such there is so many dives which is my favourite for many reasons, be it what I have seen, how I have felt or who I am with. Three dives that stand out to me are a night dive in the Maldives with the sharks swimming around in front of me. This was absolutely awesome. Another dive was in Tenerife when I was on dive 6 there was a feeding program in which a diver was feeding Stingrays. It was my first time seeing them up close and I just remember how massive they were and a Bull Ray came right up to me whilst I was filming. Another was when I was diving in Dubai, this one stands out for all the sharks in the Aquarium which I love but more than anything it was a proud moment from my parents who this was the first time they had seen me scuba dive. A memory which will stay with us all.
When I am not scuba diving I enjoy ice-skating, cycling, photography, anything adventurous, holidays and spending time with my family and friends enjoying the great outdoors.
